Florida's Attorney General sues two sweepstakes casino operators
Florida has no statute that names sweepstakes casinos, and 2026 bills to ban them outright did not pass. Florida's Attorney General takes the view that they are already illegal under the state's existing gambling laws. On August 19, 2026, the Attorney General filed two lawsuits in Hillsborough County Circuit Court against the operators of Stake and of VGW's Chumba Casino, LuckyLand and Global Poker, and against payment processors that work with them. The complaints allege illegal online gambling and breaches of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, and ask the court for permanent injunctions that would bar the defendants from operating in Florida, along with restitution and civil penalties. These are allegations: the Attorney General's [news release](https://www.myfloridalegal.com/newsrelease/attorney-general-james-uthmeier-files-lawsuits-against-operators-illegal-online-casinos) reports the filings, not a court ruling.

Oklahoma passes a sweepstakes casino ban, effective November 1

Sweepstakes casinos run on two virtual currencies. One is for fun. The other is a sweepstakes entry that may be redeemable for prizes under each operator's rules.

Offers as recorded by our partnerships team; material terms apply at each operator. "States" counts the states (plus DC) where we list the operator after applying its eligibility records and our publication restrictions. "Our score" and "Redemption in our test" are from our hands-on tests under our published method; redemption times vary, so yours may differ.
No casino gets a score until our team has opened a real account, made a purchase and requested a real redemption. Here's the process every score follows.
1
Open a real account
A tester signs up as a new player in a private browser window, without using any of our own tracking links or codes.
2
Claim, buy and play
We claim the sign-up offer, make one Gold Coin purchase, and play over several days, recording every reading with a timestamp and screenshots.
3
Record redemption evidence
When a tester completes identity checks and a prize redemption, we record the method and time it took. If that step was not completed, the review says so and does not claim a measured redemption time.
4
Test support and safer-play tools
We contact support by chat and email and check which limits and self-exclusion tools exist.
5
Score, fact-check, publish
A second editor checks the readings before publication. Scores follow the method below; a change without a new test is explained on the review.
A sweepstakes casino is an online site where you play casino-style games with two virtual currencies. Gold Coins are for entertainment only. Sweeps Coins are promotional entries you cannot buy directly; under each operator’s rules, Sweeps Coins won in play may be redeemed for prizes once playthrough, identity and eligibility conditions are met.
How many sweepstakes casinos are there?
We list 62 sweepstakes and social casinos that accept US players and are active in our partner records as of September 30, 2026. The A–Z list on this page shows each one’s sign-up offer, first-purchase offer and the number of states where we list it, and it changes as operators launch, pause or exit.
Where are sweepstakes casinos listed on this site?
Our state listings apply operator eligibility records and our publication restrictions. Some states have no listings, even where an operator may accept accounts. Check the state information and each operator's current rules before signing up.
Do you have to buy anything to play?
Buying Gold Coins is optional. Sweepstakes casinos typically offer ways to get Sweeps Coins without a purchase, such as sign-up offers, daily bonuses and a free method of entry set out in each operator’s official sweepstakes rules. Read those rules for exactly how free entry works at each site.
Can you win real money at a sweepstakes casino?
Some operators let you redeem Sweeps Coins won in play for prizes, which can include cash, but only under their rules: coins usually have to be played through first, you must pass identity checks, reach a minimum and live in an eligible state. Nothing is guaranteed, and Gold Coins can never be redeemed.
What is the difference between sweepstakes and social casinos?
Social casinos use play-money coins only, and nothing can be redeemed. Sweepstakes casinos add Sweeps Coins, which may be redeemable for prizes under the operator’s sweepstakes rules. Many sites call themselves social casinos while also running a sweepstakes, so check which currencies a site uses.
How old do you have to be?
SweepstakesCasinos.com is for adults aged 21 and older. The sweepstakes eligibility baseline is 18+, or the higher age set by the operator or your state. Check the operator's current terms before registering. Meeting an age requirement does not remove a state restriction.
How are casinos ordered on this page?
Featured casinos are shown in an order agreed with our commercial partners, so the order is not a ranking of quality. You can re-sort the list by the number of states or sign-up Sweeps Coins. When we have tested a casino under our published method, its score appears on its page.
